PavementPro recently completed a full sealcoating and striping project for Evergreen Baptist Church, located in Bixby, OK. The parking lot—just over 100,000 square feet of asphalt—had never been sealcoated before, so our goal was to apply a fresh, protective surface that would help extend the pavement’s lifespan and give the property a clean, professional look.
We were working on a tight deadline to get everything completed before weekend services, but the Oklahoma weather threw us a curveball. Rain moved in overnight, soaking the lot and threatening to delay the entire project. That morning, our crew arrived early and fired up the blowers, working section by section to spread out any standing water so the sun could do its job. It took most of the day, but the surface was finally dry and ready by late afternoon.
Because this was the first time the asphalt had ever been sealed, we applied two coats of commercial-grade sealer. To speed up the process, we used a quick-dry additive that allowed us to spray both coats in a single day without compromising quality. We moved straight into striping as soon as the second coat had dried. The lot was fully striped and ready for use the next day.
