The Challenge:
PavementPro Seal was contracted for a demanding parking lot maintenance project on five Walgreens parking lots across the Oklahoma City metro area. A primary obstacle was that Walgreens stores operate 24/7, making it difficult to perform maintenance without disrupting store operations and customer access. The team needed to develop a strategic plan that would allow them to perform necessary asphalt patching, sealcoating, and restriping with minimal impact on business.
The PavementPro Solution:
We developed a coordinated game plan for each location to address the logistical challenges of working with 24/7 businesses. This included:
- Phased Work Schedule: Rather than shutting down an entire lot, we worked on one half of the parking lot at a time, ensuring the other half remained open for customers and deliveries.
- Off-Peak Scheduling: We worked closely with each store manager to schedule service during the stores’ least busy days and times.
- Operational Coordination: The team coordinated with managers to schedule work around delivery truck arrivals and other essential operational logistics.
- Quick-Drying Technology: To minimize parking lot downtime, we utilized a sealcoating product with quick-dry additives, allowing the team to reopen sections to traffic faster.
The Outcome:
Combining planning with efficient execution, we successfully delivered high-quality parking lot maintenance for all five Walgreens locations. The project resulted in newly patched asphalt, sealcoated, and restriped parking lots that enhance curb appeal and safety for customers and staff. Despite the coordination-heavy nature of the project and potential for weather delays, the crew completed the job smoothly and efficiently.
